I came back home drunk and looked at the pictures me and my friend had taken from our night out and accidentally deleted them all off of my SD card before I had a chance to put them on my PC. I downloaded and handful of different file recovery software in a panic, only to find I had to pay an extortionate subscription fee to these products to get those snaps back. Luckily I came across Disk Drill and got back all of those pictures for free and quickly. I never usually write reviews but I am so grateful that this product is accessible when all the others seem to want to rip you off. Thank you!!
22 hours later, I have all 700GB back. Big props to @Cleverfiles for helping me recover everything INCLUDING the file structure of my SSD.
Off to the liquor store! I must make sure that if I ever do something this stupid ever again that I have enough alcohol to make me forget.
A while ago I reluctantly decided to keep my two damaged HDs. I hoped one day there will be a way to retrieve my entire month of Buchla and Serge recordings i did in Stockholm’s EMS. And yes, this day has arrived. Almost 1000 files. Thank you, #diskdrill

DiskDrill, just recovered over 500MB of photos from an SD card at work an hour ago using the tool. It’s easy to use and has a high success rate. If it’s not showing on the PC when you put the card in, that’s more serious. Hope this helps

This has been a very stressful day but I can sleep easy tonight 😁
1. When can you EVER download a free trial and get immediate tech support? They did not even know if I were going to buy it and yet these folks ROCK.
2. My SATA drive for my VR system blew over Thanksgiving and my GKids were crushed until we slapped in a M2 SSD card and got it back online BUT the SATA drive was "junk" a "boat anchor" according to my IT son.
3. I'm 70 years young and I had a gut feeling he was wrong and the data could be retrieved and I tried a few ways to access it, to no avail.
4. Enter Disk Drill.
5. I did have some "install" issues (my bad) and the folks at Disk Drill were extremely helpful and from there it was WAM BAM rock'in and roll'in.
6. I recovered ALL 1.7 TB's of data and records with ONE file that had an issue. Everything is now backed up and ready to be moved to my new Seagate Barracuda Drive when it gets here.
7. If you have ever been worried about using 3rd party software that make HUGE claims about how good their stuff is – Look No Further. Honestly – I can't wait for one of my kids to say "Dad? My Hard Drive crashed – can you fix it for me?" Life is good. 🙂
i tried another software suite to un-delete some accidentally 'permanent delete' video files. it failed miserably.
i found disk drill and put it to the task. quickly it had found all the files and is currently recovering them, all 525 files(551GBs)

I am in total shock. A gaming PC was given to me by my cousin since he doesn’t use it anymore. To reset/wipe the computer, I was required to create a recovery drive for windows. I utilized a HDD that my wife had since it had the adequate space needed. As windows was continuing the process of creating the drive, I decided to browse through the drive (plenty of childhood photos/videos from years ago.) While browsing, the folder suddenly deleted. I thought huh? Weird. Turns out, after trying to re-access the drive, I realized that I wiped a total of ~40gb worth of stuff. As you can imagine, my heart stopped and I thought, damn my wife is going to kill me. I was in full panic mode lol. Unaware but leaning towards the recovery drive being the culprit to the wipe, (it’s really my fault for not double checking before creating the recovery drive.) I panicked and browsed the web for data recovery software. I used 3 software platforms (high reviews that I won’t name) and was unsuccessful. One of them was able to retrieve a couple of photos but they were only a handful and unable to be restored (so pixelated and distorted). I thought I was doomed for good. Came across Disk Drill after looking around and thought to myself, if this doesn’t work, nothing will. Right after install/running, disk drill began to locate files immediately compared to any other software I was using. On top of that, the dashboard was user friendly (never used this type of software every in my life and didn’t even know this type of recovery existed honestly) and even gave you the option to view what was being found at the moment, it was found. Total scan time was around 45min (which was wayyyy faster in scanning than any of the previous software I utilized and literally found EVERY SINGLE file that was deleted (remember that was around 40gb). I thought, well this software is great but the real results are the files. Lets see if it actually recovers everything properly (not pixelated or small etc.)
Quality. Everything, quality. Disk drill got it all. It’s as if I never deleted anything, at all. I couldn’t believe it and I still can’t. I am truly amazed and will forever be grateful for Disk Drill. As mentioned, most if not all were childhood memories so you imagine the true attachment/meaning to recovering the files. Big thank you from not only me but my wife as well. Thank you guys so much and for anyone experiencing the same issues. LOOK NO FURTHER, THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED!!!
Hands down, the best recovery software I've found. I tried to use a few other softwares to recover data from my reset iPhone at the same time as I tried the disk drill pro trial, and none of them came even close to how much Disk Drill recovered. I was able to recover about 90% of what I lost (roughly 162 Gb out of 180 Gb and mainly photos). And this was after my iPhone was accidentally factory reset, and used subsequently for 3 weeks.
As costly as it was, it's still worth it, and I paid twice (once for pro version 3 in 2018, and again for the 50% off upgrade plus lifetime upgrade option).

17,000+ pictures and video that I hadn’t backed up from my Nikon. I was sick with worry that I’d never get them back. The SD card became unreadable by the camera and computer. I asked a computer tech guy to help with the recovery effort and offered payment, with no response.
Disk Drill was highly rated, so I gave it a try. The free version was able to recover the files (up to the 500mb limit) so I paid the fee for the full version and it recovered ALL of the files!!! Now, they’re all backed up to a portable hard drive, as are all of the photos/videos from all other devices in the house, just in case. Lesson Learned.

I can’t believe it worked. Our entire server was stored on an external hard drive and it somehow got deleted (human error unfortunately). I used Disk Drill for Windows and it found all our server files and recovered them successfully. Thanks for making me the hero Disk Drill 🙂
My SD card malfunctioned (the camera said so) and all my vacation pictures were gone. The whole card was empty when I reviewed in the camera and on my pc. A prompt reply from CleverFiles and a Disk Drill YouTube video helped me to properly scan for and recover over 400 irreplaceable photos. Well worth the price!! We had my hard disk crashed while we where moving house, it had all our photos and some important documents. I took it to technical who were quoting $600 to retrieve me the data with no quantity. I downloaded quite a few such tool which but none were able to match Disk Drill in terms of data I was able to restore and the easy UI interface which makes it very user friendly. If you looking to retrieve data you should seriously consider it before you pay huge money.
Very good app and best thing is that it is for free not like other apps like cleanmymac etc.

I deleted more than 100gb of gopro footage from two memory cards this morning and realized only later that I had merged files from more than one day of shooting into the eventual finished product. So It was a jumbled mess. And I erased the files from the cards. So mad at myself!

Just wanted to thank you guys for a great product. Saved lots of data from an otherwise lifeless HDD. I am a journalist and was wondering whether you could share some expertise on the expected life of HDDs and how people can prepare themselves better. I consider myself fairly knowledgeable but was blindsided when I found out HDDs don’t usually last more than 10 years.

Almost lost 2/3 of the Pro Lacrosse Talk podcast season 3 files on my computer due to a copy/paste error when moving files to a new hard drive.
Luckily, I was able to recover using Disk Drill (though it cost me a hefty price).
Moral of the story: Backup of files regularly.

Try disk drill. Free software to retrieve data. You have a limit to how much you can get and that’s only if it finds the files. Took about 20 hours to scan mine but I got most of the data off it for free!
I’d look into Disk Drill, or something similar. You can repair deleted files even after a partition

Disk Doctor or Disk Drill Doctor, something like that. Used it in the past. Worked good.
DaisyDisk used to let you purge it but updates to macOS have made this effectively untouchable afaik save for a clean install. give Disk Drill a shot
Your data should still be there but tagged as free space so is vulnerable to being overwritten. You will need third party software that can interrogate your phone. Try Disk Drill
I’ve used the paid version of Disk Drill in the past and had good results with corrupt rushes drives.

If you’re not feeling it on a presentation prep, try deleting it from a flash drive and panicking over the lost work. So much relief when you recover it.
